During the Colter Run there will be a least one surprise event. This challenge will be one that the boys have had no chance to practice previosly. The event always requires team cooperation and communication.

This years surprise event was called "Keep Your Powder Dry". The Scouts were handed a paper bag containing "Gun Powder"; then they had to climb into a canoe, paddle across the lake, around a marker, and then reverse their canoe onto shore again, all while keeping their paper bag dry. Should the bag get wet the Scouts had to repeat the task.
