Each Scout will have the unique opportunity to shoot a blackpowder rifle. They will be taught how to load, aim, and fire the gun properly. They will compete for individual awards of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Each Adult will also have the opportunity to shoot, and compete for an individual award.
Shooting is also a part of the Colter Run. A single member of the team will be asked to shoot a special target. It is a good idea to determine which team member is the best shot during the morning competition.
A Permission Slip, signed by a parent or guardian is required for all Scouts under the age of 18 to participate in this event.
